Thema: Ballets Russes

Weiterlesen

Arguably the greatest dancer of the 20th century, Vaslav Nijinsky transformed the world of ballet. On stage he blazed a trail as the first male star of the modern era, with critics and audiences hailing him the »God of the Dance«. In his brief career as choreographer, his astonishing modernist compositions - most controversially, »Le sacre du printemps« - had ... Weiterlesen

There has long been a popular perception of a connection between ballet and homosexuality, a connection that, for strategic reasons, has often been denied by those in the dance world. This book focuses on how, as makers and as audiences, queer men and women have helped to develop many of the texts, images, and legends of ballet. Further, the book ... Weiterlesen
