Available again: »Wrong«, Dennis Cooper's first collection of short stories, written over a period of ten years (1980-1989), centres on a homosexual rapist and sadistic murderer called Ray, who preys on the teenage boys that flock around a Los Angeles high school. The characters drift from story into another, in much the way people drift in real life: from that L.A. high school through a trip to Amsterdam to a teenage rock band called Horror Hospital. The collection showcases the themes that are central to Cooper's work - death, abusive relationships and the search for the language to convey extreme emotions. Here Cooper uses death as means to probe the meaning of life.
