Over the last two years, Paco y Manolo have published two zines conceived as self-contained projects: »Los dias veloces« and »Jardin Secreto«. Through them, we have further defined the themes that, in one way or another, have always been present in our work. In »Los dias veloces«, memory and the fleeting nature of youth come to the fore; in »Jardin Secreto«, the relationship between the body and its surroundings. Over time, these concerns have become a constant. Alongside an awareness of mortality, they run through much of our work. They are themes we return to again and again, with variations and nuances, turning our practice into a kind of MonoMania: a journey around questions that have no answers. We photograph eroticism and the joy of being alive, gathering and preserving intimate moments that usually remain beyond the public gaze. »MonoMania« revolves around this celebration of life. A celebration shaped by an awareness of time: once photographed, it is fixed within an image that bears witness, at the same time, to both its existence and its disappearance.
