This is the collection of two eight-part drama series written by Russell T. Davies (»Queer as Folk« - the original series) about modern gay life in Manchester. »Cucumber« follows middle-aged couple Henry and Lance whose relationship falls apart after a disastrous night out. Shortly after their separation, Lance starts seeing Daniel and 46-year-old Henry moves in with young couple Freddie and Dean. Henry struggles to get his life back in order, a task not helped by the presence of old friend Cliff. The spin off »Banana« tells the interlinked stories of various different characters including: 19-year-old post boy Dean who pursues a longtime crush that has recently arrived in town, Vivienne who cares for her ill mother and begins stalking a housewife, young couple Sian and Violet, transgender Helen who's ex Eddie won't accept she's moved on, struggling dater Amy and law student Josh who is madly in love with Dean's flatmate Freddie.
