Shortly after moving in to his large and suspiciously cheap apartment, aspiring gay actor Pietro notices that he is not alone. In fact, he is surrounded by the eight elegantly dressed ghosts of a troupe of actors, who all mysteriously died in the apartment in 1943. What is at first rather unnerving evolves into something more congenial, as Pietro and his companions become friends, with the phantom troupe giving the gay Pietro romantic advice, acting tips and encouragement, and the young actor resolving to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding his new friends' deaths, a journey that opens him up to new worlds.
