Federico García Lorca (* 5. Juni 1898; ? 19. August 1936) war ein spanischer Lyriker und Dramatiker. Lorca verbarg seine Homosexualität vor der Öffentlichkeit, seine Geschwister leugneten stets, dass er schwul war. Sie haben vermutlich Belege vernichtet; erst der irische Hispanist Ian Gibson zeigte in seiner Biografie, dass García Lorcas Homosexualität der Schlüssel zum Verständnis seines Werkes ist.
