Derek Michael Jarman
(* 31. Januar 1942; ? 19. Februar 1994) war ein schwuler britischer Filmregisseur und K�nstler.
Als 1987/88 die Thatcher-Regierung Clause 28 in ein geplantes Gesetz zu Kommunalverwaltungen einbrachte, mit dem die Publikation und Verwendung von Material verhindert werden sollte, das der �F�rderung der Homosexualit�t� dienen k�nnte, reagierte Jarman neben �ffentlichen Protesten mit einer gesteigerten Behandlung dieses Themas in seinen Filmen. Homosexualit�t und Kunst waren die treibenden Kr�fte seiner Arbeit. Derek Jarman starb an Folgen von AIDS; Derek Jarman war einer der ersten K�nstler, der seine Krankheit nicht nur �ffentlich machte, sondern bewusst in seiner Kunst verarbeitete.
