Schwule Comic-Kunst boomt zurzeit. Sowohl Angebot als auch Nachfrage haben sich deutlich ausgeweitet, so dass es gar nicht mehr so einfach ist den Überblick zu bewahren. Die Zeiten, als Ralf König den Markt mit seinen Knollnasen dominierte, sind längst vorbei. Heute tummeln sich dort längst auch die Comics von Zeichnern wie Patrick Fillion, Tom Bouden oder Mioki. Das Repertoire reicht dabei von witzig/frech über übermenschlich-sexuell bis hin zu spritzig/geil. Der Herausgeber dieses Sammelbandes ist ein ausgewiesener Kenner des bunten Genres - seine Zusammenstellung dürfte Neulingen einen ersten Einstieg in das Metier bieten und selbst Kennern noch die eine oder andere Überraschung bescheren.

Als schwuler Künstler ist Rex heute in Vergessenheit geraten. Als solcher ist er auch nur schwer im Pantheon der schwulen Künstler einzuordnen. Ausgehend von winzigen Punkten entwirft er beeindruckende Tintenmosaike, in denen er die dunklen Seiten schwuler Sexualität auslotet. Das ist für den Mainstream viel zu radikal. »Verboten« bietet eine Werkschau dieses düsteren Meisters, der nie davor zurückschreckte, in seiner Kunst auch mal voyeuristisch, tief, dreist, sadistisch, provokant, pornografisch und/oder politisch inkorrekt zu sein. Seine lustvolle Welt voller Leder und Jeans wird bevölkert von namenlosen verschwitzten Machokerlen und versauten Sexstuten, die zu praktisch allem bereit sind. Mit seinen Kunstwerken entführt er uns in schlecht beleuchtete Garagen und grindige Erdgeschosse - sie übernehmen den Nervenkitzel des Dargestellten.

Drei Jahre nach den »Schillerlöckchen« gibt es neue Comic-Kurzgeschichten von Ralf König. Die Bibelphase liegt zwar hinter ihm - doch es gibt noch immer ein biblisches Nachbeben: in Ralf Königs »David und Goliath« baggert David den Philister-Riesenkerl an - das ist zwar nicht gerade bibelfest, dafür aber königlich. Auch dass der Trend zum Vegetariertum schon bei Abraham anfing und sich bis zu Konrad und Paul fortsetzt (neuerdings!), ist dem König ein paar Comics wert. Frei nach Shakespeare dann ein Königsmord am britischen Hof aus Homophobie der Hofleute. Und wie war das gleich beim EU-Ratsbeschuss zur Abschaffung der guten alten Glühbirne? Der König erinnert auch an das gute alte Kleinstadtkino, mit dem ein junger Kerl seine jugendlichen Kinoerlebnisse verbindet und an dem sich seit 30 Jahren nichts verändert hat, so dass man denken könnte, es stünde unter Denkmalschutz.

Und als kleine Draufgabe: Ralf König erlaubt uns einen Blick in seinen Papierkorb.
